On 12Sep2024 the Recreation and Welfare Committee approved our Coat Collection this year. We have until Thanksgiving to collect coats for kids and especially adults.
Last Year SSVP York Region and Salvation Army York distributed 1470 Coats to 260 households through the Richmond Hill office of the Salvation Army. Donors throughout the GTA were able to take advantage of this opportunity to give a hand up to our neighbours in need in the GTA
This year the Richvale Community Centre 160 Avenue Rd in Richmond Hill will be utilized to drop off and distribute the Coats. Donation should be provided between the 15th and 19th of October to allow for sorting.
The Local also gained support for the Campaign from the Greater Toronto Area Council. It is hoped this year more families in need will be helped by the campaign.
